A cover letter is a short note that connects your CV to one job. It should explain why you are applying and point to evidence, not repeat every line of your CV. This free generator drafts that note for any role, from your own experience and the advert. You can use it without an account.
Add the role, the employer and a few facts you are happy to stand behind. The draft is a starting point. Read it as if you were the hiring manager. Delete any claim, metric or skill that is not yours. A letter that sounds grander than the CV next to it creates doubt.
In the UK, a cover letter is usually three or four short paragraphs. Open with the role and where you saw it. Use the middle to show one or two relevant examples. Close with a polite line about a conversation, and use a simple sign-off such as “Yours sincerely” when you know the name. The same structure works across job roles. Edit the examples so they match your field.
Before you send it, compare the CV itself with the advert in a free review.
